Can we talk car seats? I love to talk car seats!
Okay, that’s not actually true. What I really love to talk about is car seat safety. You know, the whole extended-rear-facing (until at least age two, and longer if your kid still fits in a rear-facing car seat), 5-point-harness, correct installation rigamarole? Love that stuff. I love knowing that there are simple steps I can take to keep my children safe in the car, and I love that by taking those steps, I am teaching by example about how important it is to think about safety when you are riding in, or later, driving, a car.
Because of my borderline obsession with carseat safety, every time I see a carseat that is specifically designed to make safe riding easier on mom and dad, I get really excited. The Urbini Sonti infant car seat? Yeah, it does that. Here’s how:
- All about that base: The base has four different positions that were specifically designed to accommodate all of the most common seat shapes you find in different cars, which means that this baby (and therefore your baby) fits safely in the minivan just as well as it does in the sedan and even in the completely weirdo car that you end up renting for that first Christmas with baby’s grandparents.
- Easy in, easy out: They have this thing, the extra grip lock off? It’s this magical device that means that you no longer have to worry about all the different ways that your seat belt might lock. It does this by automagically taking care of the excess slack in the seatbelt, and you don’t even have to write a thank you note! Plus, it has those sweet push-button style connectors to attach the lower anchors to your car’s LATCH system. Shove it in until it goes click; good to go.
- Rear facing like a boss: Carry your kiddo in the safest possible position – rear-facing – whether you’re bringing home a 5 pound preemie (using their sweet infant insert), or running errands with a wiggly, 30 pound 18-month-old.
- It looks really good: I would be lying if I told you I didn’t care at all about how my carseat looks. The good news is that safety and style go hand-and-hand with the chic modern look of the Urbini Sonti. And with a few clicks, you’re new carseat transforms into a carriage. Perfect for mamas who are on the go.
Bottom Line… It’s safe, chic, and easy-to-use.
